When I think of Cotton, I think of the southern United States. Australia may not come to mind, but they do grow a lot of cotton. For that matter, a lot of GE cotton. In this video I talk with a farmer from Australia who says GE cotton has helped farmers in her area be MORE sustainable... watch the video to find out how!

Special thanks to Cameron and Tracey Geddes for sharing their cotton harvest with us, and to Andrew Keeley and Brin Fanning for picking while being filmed.... pressure!
Also, Dr Paul Grundy helped by filming, so thank you for that!

NOTE: The data about number of applications of BT insecticide (16-24 per season) is sourced straight from Australian farmers.
The data about fuel savings is calculated based on the amount of Cotton in production in Australia, (452K Hectares), and a wide range of fuel burn rates during BT application. It can vary depending on numerous factors, but I found the range to be between 2 and 8 litres per hectare, and did my math based on those figures.
